Our community engagement strategy includes collaborative activities with municipal, regional, provincial and federal levels of government, funding agencies, NGOs and corporations. These partnerships foster a mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources.
We work to promote the University’s excellence in teaching, research and resources. We also partner with the public and private sectors to enrich teaching and learning; contribute to the region’s global competitiveness through programs and services that span human capital formation; research and innovation in science, public policy and social development, and stewardship of place.
The department’s focus includes partnering with local and regional economic development and community organizations; scheduling University tours; programming for incoming and outgoing official delegations, dignitaries and VIPs; directing University-wide protocol; establishing relationships and developing programs that support the University’s strategic goals; and managing convocation and campus events
